OBJECTIVE

Our objective is to assess the solar energy potential in Uttara Kannada (74°9' to 75°10' east longitude and 13°55' to 15°31' north latitude, covering an area of 10,327 km2). Since Uttara Kannada does not have a radiation station, we observed solar climatological data collected at radiation stations set up by the India Meteorological Department closer to the Uttara Kannada district, namely, Goa (15°29' north latitude, 73°49' east longitude, elevation 55 m) and Mangalore (12°55' north latitude, 74°53' east longitude, elevation 102 m).
