CONCLUSION |
Anaerobic degradation of organic waste is a biological process representable by two phases of degradation that can be modeled by firstorder kinetics. Rate of degradation of phase I is much faster than phase II degradation. The rate constants and potential biogas formation at each phase of decomposition varied widely among different waste categories and indicate potential of VFA accumulation.
