Mahajan A.D.

Abstract:

Lonar is a natural lake situated in Buldhana district of Maharashtra state (India) between latitude 19°58' and longitude 76°34'. Lonar lake is India's largest and world's largest meteorite crater. The lake has a perennial supply of fresh water but there is no outlet. Physico-chemical studies were carried out using standard methods along with biological studies. The biodiversity of lake water is less and the organisms are living under stressful conditions of high pH and salinity.
