Abstract: Attempts have been made to elicit the latent potential of wildlife tourism in the region with recommendation is for better land use. Wild life recreation is a still a misconceived concept. Recreation attitudes and practices are often incongruous with conservation. This study documents representative stress on the areas of wilderness and land use conflict in the Randhagiri wildlife sanctuary in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra.
