Abstract: As apart of detailed study on sediment yield from watersheds from Western Ghat region the Mangalam Irrigation Project and Kuttiyadi Irrigation Project were taken up for detailed survey. It is found that the dead storage provided by both Mangalam and Peruvannamuzhi has been exceed. Base on the above study attempt should be made to provide sufficient dead storage for future reservoir's of this belt of Western Ghat right at the planning stage.
