The lovingly preserved Necar 1 is now on display are the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. Back then, it took a modified delivery van to house the fuel cell unit and bulky high-pressure hydrogen tank. When the gas was brought into contact with oxygen, water was formed, and enough electrical energy was released to propel the Necar to a maximum speed of 90 km/h.
