Hence, the flow of electrons produces electricity. Although harnessing of energy through solar cells is no more than 60 years old, the photovoltaic (PV) effect was discovered about 200 years ago. Abstract: Bioethanol is one of the most important renewable fuels globally accepted as substitute for liquid fossil fuels for transport sector. To promote biofuels in transport sector, the Government of India initiated the ethanol blending policy in 2003 and made a decision for mandatory blending of 20 percent ethanol (E20) by the end of 2017.Currently, production of bioethanol relies on molasses from sugar industries. However, it will not be enough to meet the demand. From this perspective, bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass is an interesting alternative.

Abstract: Seaweeds are found abundantly in the north Atlantic coast of North America and Europe, west to southeast seaboard of South America and west and southern coast of Australia. In the Indian context, seaweeds grow in large quantities along of the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and in certain regions of Lakshadweep, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There are also very rich seaweeds diversity in the coastal lines of Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Goa, Karwar, Varkala, Vizhinjam and Pulicat, and Chilka. Many surveys have been conducted in various maritime states of India in the last four decades to identify the resources of seaweeds along the coast.
