Dear All
Thank you for your application in response to the announcment of Free &
Open Source Geospatial Technologies (FOSS4G) for Urban
Environment Applications (mapping, inventorying & monitoring), 21-24
August 2015.
We received large number of applications (about 100+) and the committee
which met this afternoon scrutinised the applications and have short
listed candidates based on (i) date of receipt of application (ii)
knowledge/experience in GIS and Remote Sensing, (iii) qualification, etc.
We regret to inform you that your application was not considered for the
session during 21-24 August 2015. we are likely to announce the next
session soon. Arrangements have been made to return application (with DD)
to your postal address, which will be sent by speed post tomorrow morning.

WELCOME to Indian Institute of Science, 20 August 2015, Venue: CCE Lecture Hall (Behind IISc main Library, next to NESARA)
Thank you for your application in response to the announcment of
Free & Open Source Geospatial Technologies (FOSS4G) for Urban Environment
Applications (mapping, inventorying & monitoring), 21-24 August 2015.
You may note that we are also organsing, Biodiversity Awareness workshop
using FOSS4G on 20 August 2015. Some case studies will be presented on
20th August 2015. Plan to attend the event on 20 August (as these case studies will
not be presented again). Active participation on all days, all sessions is mandatory and
only those participants will be given the participation certificate.
You are welcome to attend these programmes (20th and during 21-24 August
2015) and the details of the programme are
Venue: CCE Lecture Hall (Next to IISc Students Hostel Office and NESARA
Restaurant) - PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN THE VENUE (announced
earlier in the brochure)
DATE: 20 August 2015, THURSDAY, Registration begins at 8 30 AM
Tea: 10 30 AM and 4 30 PM
Lunch: 1 noon (arranged at NESARA - open area, behind the restuarant)

The session would be interactive and plan to take active part in the
programme. You may try some applications with your data, you may
plan to bring your lap-top with data (spatial with attribute info) so that
you can explore
Please NOTE: You need to make your own travel and accommodation
arrangements. Accommodation facilities on the campus is overbooked due
to the beginning of academic session. Due to limited funds, it is not
possible to provide travel support in any one.

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR LAPTOP with minimum hard disk space of
30-35 GB to load FOSS softwares.
