Know Your Ecosystem

A two-day workshop for children of age group 7-12 years was Organised on April 20-21, 2002 by the Karnataka Environment Research Foundation (Bangalore), Energy and Wetland Research Group, Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science (Bagalore) and Commonwealth of Learning (Canada). Around 108 kids from 28 different schools (all over Bangalore) participated in this workshop. The venue of the workshop was Choksi hall, Indian Institute of Science campus. The programme included interactive sessions - water and soil testing, painting, segregation of solid waste products, tree identification, planting saplings and recycling of paper and plastic.
