Dear EM2019 student,

for tomorrow field visit, please note the following
Transport has been arranged and will start from IISc at 6 30 AM (morning)
Pickup point: IISc Main Library
Please carry
(i) water bottle,
(ii) medicine - if required,
(iii) appropriate attire to trek in undulating terrain,
(iv) cap and google - if required
6 15 am -Assembly at IISc Main Library
6 30 am - will leave IISc
9 am - Expected to arrive at R K Mission Sivanahalli
9 30 - 1 noon: Guest lectures(TVR, Vriju Lal, Chaturved, G R Rao and surprise guests)
1-2 - Lunch
2-4 pm - field ecology - understanding birds, butterflies, trees and oxygen therapy
4 -4 30 discussion with Sri. Vishnumayananda, group photo
4 30 - will leave R K mission
7 PM: Arrive at Adamya Chetana - visit to green kitchen(preparing mid day meal for govt school kids)
7 - 8 30 pm - discussion, lectures
8 30 will leave for IISc after having light snacks

Dear EM2019 student,

Welcome to the 17th Session of the Internet based course on Environment Management. I am happy to inform you that the selection committee of EM2019 has considered your application and now you have an opportunity to do a course at IISc EM 2019 will begin on 3 Sep 2019 at 8 30 am (Registration) and the venue is CCE Lecture Hall (next to NESARA Restaurant and IISc Students Hostel Office). The mid term exam will be on 8 Sept afternoon ( 2 to 5 30 pm) based on first five chapters of the reference book. Please note

• The outstation participants who have not indicated in the application, may send a mail to me (emram.courses@iisc.ac.in). I would suggest to stay on the campus considering Bangalore's traffic and associated problems.
• The schedule of the course is attached herewith along with the details of the course.
• The second attachment provides the details of - sessions, e-sessions, reference book, project template, final session details
• I suggest everyone to buy the reference book
• Need to maintain discipline while at IISc (smoking, littering waste in the campus, use of mobile (silent mode also) not allowed).
• The course evaluation would include (i) attendance - during contact sessions as well as e-sessions, (ii) performance during mid term and final exams, (ii) quality of the project work and (iv) presentations during the final contact sessions and (v) punctuality
• We have planned field ecology session at R K Mission campus, Shivanahalli, bnext to Bannerghatta National park on 5 Sept 2019. This location is at about 55 km from IISc and the campus terrain is undulating (need to wear appropriate attire for field ecology - shoe, etc.)
• Temperature in the campus is pleasant and night temperatures during Sept would be about 24-25 Deg C. Bangalore is likely to get few showers during the course.
• During the course -tea /coffee (at 10 30), working lunch (at 1 noon) and evening tea/coffee (at 4 30 pm) would be arranged. Candidates are advised to have breakfast before coming to class and those staying in the campus can avail facility at NESARA restaurant (on payment)

• Purchase the reference book - Environmental Management and go through first five chapters, which would help in understanding the chapter (during lectures) and also perform better in the exam.
