This is to confirm of EM 2018- Environment Management Course 2018 will begin on 1 Sept 2018 (SATURDAY). Please note
1. Carry a copy of this mail, which will help in answering queries at the Gate. Security will ask about the details. WE will make arrangement for issue of ID (will take 3 -4 days). Till that time, this letter aids as ID proof.
2. Registration of the course is 8 30-8 45 am on 1 Sept 2018. Need to carry (i) 3 stamp size photographs, (ii) copy of the letter from the organisation - those who are nominated by the organisation, Govt agencies and universities, etc., (iii) cash of Rs 25 towards ID card charges, (iv) Cash of Rs 200 for field work expenses.
3. Lectures start at 9 am everyday. Everyone is expected to be in the classroom by 8 45 am. Plan your journey taking into account traffic constraints in Bangalore (for those who are staying outside).
4. Please carry laptop which will help in doing assignments, etc.
5. Field work will be in an undulating terrain of Shivanahalli campus of RK MIssion, Next to Bannerghatta National Park on 5 Sept 2018. Please carry appropriate attire (light colours), shoe, etc.
6. Carry your own water bottle. Plastic bottles / bottled water not allowed inside the class room.
7. Please ask your colleagues/ family members to contact you only after class. Mobile phone (active/silent mode) not allowed / functional inside the classroom.
8. Accommodation for outstation participants is arranged at CVH - Centenary Visitors House (for those who have asked for on campus accommodation). Breakfast and dinner is available at CVH. Room rent and food (breakfast and dinner) expenses to be paid at the reception desk, CVH. Participants are requested to take the receipt for the payment at the reception desk, CVH. 10. Working lunch and tea - arranged at CCE lecture hall (Nesara).
11. The session will be interactive and participants would be requested to summarise lectures at regular interval. Schedule (latest) is attached herewith for your information.
13. Please carry essential medicines (in case you require) for common ailments (in case you are prone to minor issues due to changes in the climate). Temperature at IISc campus during night is about 18-20 Degrees. Plan accordingly (if you require warm cloth.
14. Mid term exam will be on 4 Sept 2018 afternoon. Examination will be based on the first five chapters form the reference book - Environment Management. Those who have not got the copy of this publication may buy at the registration desk.

In continuation to my earlier mail with details, please note the first contact session of EM 2018 would begin on 1 Sept 2018 (SATURDAY)

Sub: EM 2018: Mid Term Exam on 4 Sept and field Visit on 5 Sept
Dear All
Every Year, Teachers Day is celebrated on 5 Sept and hence we have scheduled field visit with guest lectures from Guru's on 5 Sept at R K Mission, Shivanahalli (which is about 50km from IISc). Field work involves sampling, mapping of trees, birds and butterfly inventorying, etc. Please carry appropriate dress (light color), shoe, cap and water bottle (not PLASTIC), umbrella or rain coat as you have to do trekking in an undulating terrain. Examination scheduled earlier on 5 Sept is now advanced to 4 Sept afternoon. Examination will be based on first five chapters in the reference book - ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT. Would appreciate prior preparation, and the book authored by us is in self learning format and you would be able to understand the concept.
5 Sept, we will be returning to c at about 9 30 pm and need to plan your return journey accordingly. We have arranged bus to travel to R K Mission and bus will leave IISc at 7 am (IISc Time), Pickup point IISc Main Library (Gulmohar Marg, IISc campus, closer to CCE Lecture Hall

Welcome to the sixteenth session of Environment Management Course 2018 (EM2018).
On behalf of the Selection committee, I am happy to inform you that you have been chosen for the
Current session of EM 2018, scheduled to begin on 1 Sept 2018. Details of EM 208 including 'reference book' are listed in the document EM2018-19_Course.pdf . Please go through this document carefully.
You all have now an opportunity to learn concepts related to the environment. The course would begin on 1 Sept 2018 and the first session would end with an examination on 5 Sept 2017 (between 2-5 30 PM). Please plan your travel accordingly. Attached herewith the schedule of the Sept 2018 Session
