Abstract: Thirty three species fishes belonging to 22 genera and nine families were collected and identified from Mudanthurai Wildlife Sanctuary, TamilNadu.Local names and note on their distribution in the sanctuary are given. Major conservation problems are identified and five suggestions for improving the potential of fishing resources in the sanctuary are given
