Cnemaspis indicus (Nilgiri dwarf gecko) This dwarf gecko is greenish-brown with a row of orange -yellowish spots down the back and a line of similarity colored spots ion the sides. A light vertebral line is some times present. The throat is dark brown and the remainder of the lower part are brownish white. Male with 4-5 femoral pores on each side. The head and body length is about 40 mm and the tail is slightly longer being 42 mm long. This is the commonest forest gecko of Niligiris, south India, but is also found in Coorg, Karnataka. Cenmaspis wynadensis (Wynad dwarf gecko) This gecko seems to prefer moist jungle where it may be found under stones.It is usually found in Wybnad, Kerala and is very common in the Silent valley. Cnemaspis sisparensis (Sispar dwarf gecko) It is rare and restricted to the sisparaghat, Nilgiris. Cnemaspis ornata (Ornata dwarf gecko) It is usually found under rocks in the hills of Tirunelveli.Annaaimalais,Malabar and South Kerala Cnemaspis beddomii It is found in the hills of Tirunelveli,Wynad and south Kerala at elevations between 1600m-1700m. Cnemaspis mysoriensis Found in the South india upto 1000m as far as nort at lat.13 dgrees. Cnemaspis jerdoni This is rare gecko found in the Nilgiris, Anaimalais,Palinis and Sivagiri Hills of Western Ghats Cnemaspis littoralis (arboreal dwarf gecko) This diurnal gecko occurs in the dry forests of Nilambur,Kerala and Nellakota,Nilgiris. Calodactylodes aureus, ( Golden Gecko) This gecko is a rare hill species, endemic to India. The few known specimens were found among the rocks in the dark rivines of Tirupattur hills in North Arcot District,TamilNadu and Tirumalahills of Andhra Pradesh. Hemidactylus maculatus (Giant Spotted Gecko).Hemidactylus tridrus (Blotched Gecko) Commonly found in Keral .TamilNadu, areas Hemidactylus prashadi This gecko has been collected in the jog, Nort Kannada Karnataka . Hemidactylus giganteus (Giant tree gecko) occurs in the Andhra, Lingasagar,Karnataka and Wynad Kerala. Agamids family Agamidae Salea salea Lizards These are members of a genus hill lizards found mainly among bushes,hedges,and gardens in the Western Ghats, some times in the higher altitudes up to 18000m. Salea horsfieldi (Nilgiri Salea) This species is common in the Nilgiris and Palinis. Salea anamallayana (Anamimalais salea) The hill lizard is restricted to the Anaimalais,Palanis,and Hills of South Kerala. Calotis nemericola found Nigiri hills of south India. Calotis grandisquamis is also a hill species with a large head. This lizard is found in the Animalais, Brahmagiris and Hills of south Kerala, Western Ghats. Psammophilus dorsalis common in Nilgiris and around Bangalore Chameleons Family Chamaeleonidae Mabuya beddomii This is a hill species reported chiefly from the Western Ghats. Scincela palnicum The skink restricted to the Palnis, Western Ghats and is similar to Travencorium Scincela tarvencoriu This species mainly a hill from occurring in the Anamalais Palnis and Hills of South Kerala. Scincela bilineatum, Scincela beddomei and Scincela laterimaculatum, Salea, Ristella (cat skinks,Genus). These are Hill species and four species are contained in type genus are endemic to Western Ghats. Ristella travancorica (travencore cat skink) Ristella guentheri, Ristella beddomii and Ristella rurki. This cat skink occurring in the Anamalais Palnis and Hills of South Kerala.,Western Ghats. Lacertids family Lacertidae, Ophisops jerdoni (Punjab snaked eye Lacertid) Ophisops beddomi western and southern India
