While working out a considerable collection of grasses from the Blatter Herbarium Bombay, two novelties in the genus Ischaemum were discovered and are described below. Ischaemum santapaui was first collected at the end of 1949, but it turns out to be a very common grass with a fairly wide distribution-it was so common that it was not worth collecting.
