In the present case the mangrove vegetation was studied from several places in and around Bombay, from Colaba reclamation, Vadala, Sewri salt pans, Worli and Mahim. In Salsette the mangrove vegetation was studied from the following places: Thane, near the creek and along railway lines on both sides, marshy places near the creek of Bandra. The distribution of mangrove vegetation is chiefly composed of Avecennia alba, Blume which is very prolific in girth.
