U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY EARTH SCIENCES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Sciences Internship Program focuses on the preparation of college students and recent graduates (within one year) for careers in areas of interest to USGS and supports the USGS goal to ensure a diverse and talented workforce. Applicants for the program must be enrolled in or recent graduates of U.S. colleges and universities. Appointments will provide opportunities for interns to participate in USGS mission-related programs, projects, and activities. Participants will gain valuable experience during their internships with USGS, interact with outstanding professionals, and become familiar with national issues while making personal contributions to the search for solutions.

An applicant interested in an internship should respond to a specific project description (see attachment). A complete application consists of:

Detailed list of computer skills and list of courses taken pertaining to the project description
Three reference letters sent directly from the sources (not by the applicant) to Oak Ridge Associated Universities (address specified below)
Other items as specified in the project description

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions (official transcripts may be required at a later date)
