Subject: [LIS-Forum] Nutch - an open source search engine.

Respected all,
Recently we witnessed discussion about the relevance of
library skills in current era of IT. Here we have an opportunity
to use our skills for something new and exiting.

A new open source search engine has come to being called NUTCH.The
idea behind Nutch is to create an open-source web search engine
where
everything is exposed. In contrast, other search engines may be
secretive about how they rank pages (implication: Google) or take
payment to include sites (implication: all the other major search
engines that do paid inclusion).

This is a challenging proposition. If you believe in the merits of
this project, please try as a developer.

details can be seen at: http://www.nutch.org/docs/en/index.html
