The United States Environmental Protection Agency has released
this site for interested parties in new rulemaking actions for
the pulp and paper industries. The site includes regulatory
information, fact sheets, supporting documents, and technical
contacts for proposed actions to reduce releases to the air and
water of toxic pollutants from pulp, paper, and paperboard mills.
The actions are cosponsored by the Office of Air and Radiation
and the Office of Water's Office of Science and Technology. The
Final Pulp and Paper Cluster Rule is expected to be published in
the Federal Register in mid-January 1998. After the rule is
published in the Federal Register, the water record will be
available in the Water Docket at U.S. EPA headquarters in
Washington, D.C. The air record will be available in the Air and
Radiation Docket at U.S. EPA headquarters in Washington, D.C. in
          late November 1997.
