Dear Lis-forum member,

There is always a flurry of interest in the scientific and technical 
community, the world over, around the time the Nobel prizes are awarded. 

For the benefit of IISc students and faculty, NCSI provides relevant 
portions from the Nobel Foundation announcements of 1997 Nobel Prizes,
on its Web site.

To throw more light upon the Nobel laureates' research work, we have
also provided abstracts of their recent articles, in the areas of 
Physics, Chemistry and Medicine.
