From: "Rossen Roussev (REC, RECNet)"Subject: NGO Directory for Central and Eastern Europe now online The NGO Directory for Central and Eastern Europe provides information about the environmental non-governmental organizations working in the 15 CEE countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czeh Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, FYR Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, FR Yugoslavia). Given the rapid changes in CEE, it is necessary to update the information in this directory to maintain its usefulness. This is the third edition of the NGO Directory which was first published in 1992. All the information in the Directory was gathered between the period March to August of 1997 by the REC Local Offices in the given countries. The work on the NGO Directory was financed by the European Commission DG XI, Environment, Nuclear Safety and Civil Protection. The Directory contains short profiles of over 2,700 NGOs, as well as the main results of the needs of NGOs in the region resulting from a Needs Assessment of Environmental NGOs in CEE carried out by the REC during the 1996. The Directory can be accesses at: http://www.rec.org/REC/Databases/NGODirectory/NGOFind.html /\_/\ "Cyberspace is where..|@ @|..the WILD things are!"> /~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~QQQ~~(_)~~QQQ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\ | Rossen Roussev | | Information Systems Project Manager Tel: (36-26) 311-199 | | Regional Environmental Center Fax: (36-26) 311-294 | | for Central and Eastern Europe e-mail: | | Ady Endre ut 9-11 RRoussev@rec.org | | 2000 Szentendre, Hungary http://www.rec.org/REC/Databases/NGODirectory/NGOFind.html | \-------------------------------------------------------------------/ EnviroPhantom - The Environmental Information Spider for Central and Eastern Europe, http://phantom.rec.org/Databases/NGODirectory/NGOFind.html REC Email-On-Demand Service, mailto:eod@rec.org
