SEI-Boston (SEI-B)
SEI-Boston has been the main location for the development
of software tools for use in natural resource assessment and planning
including energy (LEAP), water (WEAP) and sustainable development
scenarios (PoleStar). It is also the venue of the Greenhouse Gas
Scenario System (G2S2) work and is linked to groups working on
solid waste treatment and disposal analysis. Further information

Tallinn
SEI-Tallinn has developed as the spear-head of the SEI
work in the Baltic Region and central and eastern European countries.
The focus has been on sustainable development in environmental
protection, nature conservation and energy efficiency and conservation.
As well, there is research on economic instruments in pollution
control and environmentally sound technology transfer. There is
also work on restoration of contaminated former military sites
from the Soviet period. A brochure describing SEI-T is

York
SEI-York has developed the co-ordinated abatement strategy
model (CASM) that is an integrated assessment tool for dealing
with acid depositions in Europe. The work on acidic depositions
has been extended to developing country regions by use of its
Geographical information Systems (GIS) facility. It is also the
venue for work on low-cost, mined-land reclamation and atmospheric
