Subject: [GKD] VirtualNation: Afghanistan Development Group

Dear GKD Members,

I would like to welcome you to VirtualNation, Inc. a not-for-profit
organization founded two years ago to unite Afghan expatriates, but in
light of the current situation in Afghanistan, it is taking off at an
extremely fast pace now due to the urgency and necessity of the services
offered by us to the public. Many great people have already come on
board with our Advisory Council and Board of Directors; however, we are
still seeking the right individuals, partners and resources to
collaborate by launching our programs. If you are currently involved in
any Afghan related affairs or know of any individuals or organization
that we should collaborate with, please forward this message or
introduce to me what presents itself relevant.

Please visit our website or review our organizational profile and
statement of purpose featured below the signature line. We are shortly
revamping the site to introduce a database for volunteers and
organizations that are interested in the reconstruction and development
of Afghanistan. Also you are welcome to join our newsgroup at
VirtualNation-subscribe@yahoogroups.com I want thank you in advance for
your time and interest and looking forward to your thoughts and actions.

Respectfully,

Vaus D. Aslaun

VirtualNation Departments and Their Missions

Center for Afghan Public Affairs (CAPA) operates as an educational
medium to inform the media and public en-masse on Afghan culture and
heritage while serving as the unified Afghan voice. Sponsors and
promotes programs such as news conferences, panels, roundtables and
fundraisers for other cultural and humanitarian organizations.

Reconstruction and Development Center (R&DC) initiates and promotes
collaboration between individuals and organizations interested in the
development and reconstruction of Afghanistan. Partnerships with relief
and development organizations allow VirtualNation to be the primary
remote center for providing solutions and resources. Databases,
discussion boards, and list serves are common ways to collect talents to
help rebuild communities.

Education Development Center (EDC) and its members are actively
involved in tutoring and mentorship programs for the Afghan youth, to
empower them socially, intellectually, and academically. Online course
will also be introduced to teach the Afghan languages, history and
culture. Provides tools for other communities to duplicate tutoring
programs and will introduce scholarships for Afghan students to foster
good will.

Afghan Chambers of Commerce and Trade (ACCT) encourages
entrepreneurship and collaboration between Afghan-owned and operated
businesses and various industries. Provides resources and information on
starting, developing, managing as well as marketing a business. Directs
businesses to grants, services, and other developmental needs.
International companies interested in trade and development can seek
partnerships and affiliations with Afghan companies.

Community Resource Center (CRC) focuses on personal, family and
community affairs. An online center to enhance lifestyle, by providing
experts and means for legal advice, immigration issues, widow and orphan
services, refugee placements, counseling and other social welfare needs.
