Elselvier Science Journals: ContentsDirect Service

Hello,

Following is a news item from Elsevier publishers, about their ContentsDirect service. It is a pre-publication alerting service for Elsevier Science journals, delivered free of cost to subscribers to their e-mail address. Content pages are delivered 2-4 weeks ahead of the print journal publication. Couple of hundred journals are covered by the service. Complete list is included in the message given below.

WHAT IS ContentsDirect?

ContentsDirect, the fastest and most direct pre-publication alerting service for Elsevier Science journals, is available free of charge, exclusively from Elsevier Science.

Approximately two to four weeks before a journal issue appears in libraries, readers subscribing to ContentsDirect will receive, via e-mail, the contents page of that issue directly on their pc.

Subscribers to ContentsDirect, which is delivered via a 'listserv'-like service, will have the advantage of these additional benefits:


     news of editorial board appointments
     call for papers/announcements of special issues
     news of changes in aims and scope
     discounts on new books
as well as access to the usual listserv facilities:

     info
     what
WHICH JOURNALS ARE COVERED IN THE SERVICE?

Please see below at the conclusion of this message for a list of all of the journals presently included in and/or scheduled for inclusion in the ContentsDirect Service in 1996. Elsevier Science is expanding the ContentsDirect service with further titles to be added to this list throughout 1996. The list is divided into five broad categories:

     Life Sciences and Medicine
     Physical and Environmental Sciences
     Materials Science
     Energy, Engineering and Technology
     Social and Behavioral Sciences
However, a quick scroll through all of the titles will ensure that you find all journals of interest to you. You may subscribe to as many ContentsDirect titles as you like.

Please note that if a title in the list is not yet available, it soon will be, so sign up now. Each new title will be announced in the journal itself (look out for the ContentsDirect logo on the contents page) and through normal promotion channels. A full list of journals included in the service will be kept up to date in this document.
