MOTIVATION FOR THE CONFERENCE
The imperative of sustainable development brings with it a
responsibility to ensure the requisite environmental expertise is
available in government, commerce and industry. This need is
no greater than in the rapidly developing countries of the
Asia-Pacific region. The continuing evolution of training
methods and tools, and the explosive development of
information technologies, will provide an opportunity to meet
what might otherwise be an impossible challenge.
THE CONFERENCE STRATEGY
To realize the full potential of these emerging capabilities,
major players will share their vision of the relevant methods,
tools and technologies likely to be available in the 21st century.
They will engage in a dialogue with those who can articulate
the expertise environmental managers must be able to offer if
countries are to meet the goal of sustainable development in the
21st century.
CONFERENCE OUTCOMES
Through raised awareness and professional empowerment,
individuals will be able to enhance their contributions to the
professional development of environmental managers into the
21st century. The conference will also provide a forum for the
formation of synergistic partnerships involving environmental
training professionals, interactive multimedia technologists and
representatives of government and industry.
