Integrating spatial analysis tool with management issues is a vital part of this study, Geographical Information System (GIS) software Mapinfo5.5 was used to create various vector layers from the Survey of India (SOI) toposheets of scale 1:1000. Digitized vector layers include

     Boundary
     Road network
     Buildings distribution  (built up area)
     Distribution of  all bins- spatial map of active bins
     Present dumping sites 
     Land use and land  cover  map  based on field data and remote 
       sensing data
     Map showing litter study plots (used to quantify litter production)
     Contours, etc.
