State of the World's Forests, FAO. The 2003 version of the bi-annual State of the World's Forests from FAO has a more policy-oriented focus than previous reports. Looking first at recent changes in the forestry sector, the report's broader recommendations call for stronger integrated policies and better linkages across sectors, such as agriculture, transportation and trade. It particularly recommends innovative partnerships among governments, organizations, the private sector and civil society. The report is broken down in to chapters dealing with different aspects of forest use and policy. (http://www.fao.org/DOCREP/005/Y7581E/Y7581E00.HTM)

The study's main objective is to provide methodological guidance for cost-effective economic analysis. The same authors have published a manual on this topic ( http://www.odifpeg.org.uk/economicsofPFM/bookdetails.html ).
