Abstract: MCF (Mangalore Chemical and Fertilizers Ltd) has taken adequate care in treating its effluent before disposal to sea. In ordfer to study its effect on the marine environment, ecology at sea near the effluent outfall is being monitored right from a year ahead commissioning of MCF plants. These studies conducted show that the marine ecology is not affected by the company's effluent discharge.
