The EMCB-ENVIS (Environmental Management Capacity Building - Environmental Information System) node on 'State Environment Issues' at PSCST (Punjab State Council for Science & Technology), Chandigarh was established in Dec. 2002 under the World Bank assisted project(EMCB ENVIS) of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India (MoEF) to identifying and highlight the State Environment and Related Issues. Now, the node has been upgraded to ENVIS Centre, w.r.t Jan, 05 on the same subject under the aegis of MoEF, Govt. of India, in the 10th five year plan.
