Subject: Technician/M.S. Graduate Assistantship on Brant behavior and nutrition

FIELD CREW LEADER possibly leading to a M.S. GRADUATE RESEARCH POSITION on BRANT. An IMMEDIATE

opening has occurred through the UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE'S Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology to determine Brant winter ecology including food resources and habitat use in both coastal New Jersey and the eastern seaboard. Field work will begin October 15th and will run through the end of May. Applicant must be prepared to head straight to the field. The successful applicant will be in a semi-supervisory role and will also oversee a series of part-time technicians across the eastern seaboard but will mainly have to work alone.

Consequently the successful applicant must have proven track record they can perform waterfowl behavioral observations with little/no supervision. Research responsibilities will mainly include behavioral sampling, but additional food sampling and hunter killed carcass analysis will be necessary. If technician is successful in research activities and is interested they will be considered to be upgraded to a graduate student. Monthly stipend will be $1300-1400 per month depending on qualifications. Field housing is free. Applicant must have a clean driving record.
