OS concepts, IPC , Synchronization objects.
Linux : Linux Internals, Kernel Modules, Linux network drivers
VXWorks : Device Drivers,Debug environment
Other OS : uITRON , Different flavours of Unix, Windows (2k,NT) Drivers.
 
Scripting (a plus) : sed, Awk, Shell programming
 
General Networking concepts :
 
TCP/IP concepts, Data flow sequences , Layer 2 switching, L2/L3, 802.11,
802.1x, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Virtual Lans (VLAN).
 
Target Deployment :
 
Good experience of deployment on customized target platforms, cross
compilation, tool-chains, debugging environments, BSP and LSP (Board
Support package and Linux Support Package)
 
Device Drivers:
 
Layer 2 drivers,Network drivers, WLAN IEEE 802.11a/b/g MAC and drivers,
Low Level data path drivers for different processors and chipsets.
 
Processors:
 
Network Processors, Communication Procesors (IXP425, IXP1200, MPC8260,
MPC 860 etc)
 
Firmware/ Diagnostics:
 
Low-level Diagnostics of the board, Firmware and low-level software.
should have some hardware background in terms of devices like flash
memory, peripheral devices etc.
