Kumar ================================================ Groundwater Researcher - Post Doctoral Fellowship The position is for a two-year term with Lincoln Environmental, a division of Lincoln Ventures Ltd, based on the Lincoln University Campus, Canterbury. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our research team working on groundwater quality protection (GQP). The team works on the impacts of landuse on groundwater resources, focusing on water and solute movement and transormations in the soil/vadose-zone/groundwater continuum. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Development of hypotheses that contribute to the achievement of the GQP research group's objectives and target outcomes. 2. Planning and design of experiments that will provide the data required for hypothesis testing. 3. Lead the conducting of experiments and gathering of datasets that are fit for purpose. 4. Analysing datasets, working with scientists and using computer models as part of the hypothesis testing process. 5. Writing up results, archiving all relevant information and data, and publishing the findings. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 1. Recent PhD in the area of mass transport in porous media. 2. Practical experience in the conducting of physical experiments to do with mass transport in porous media. 3. A strong background in mathematics or physics at undergraduate or postgraduate level. 4. Practical skills in datalogging and associated workshop skills. 5. Experience in the application of relevant computer models would be an advantage, but is not essential. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES 1.
