Master's Programme in Development and International Cooperation

Application Information

The University of Jyväskylä, Finland, will launch an English-language
Master's Programme in Development and International Cooperation in 2004.

The Master's Programme in Development and International Cooperation is a
two-year degree programme of 80-120 ECTS credits which provides both the
theoretical knowledge and practical skills required in the field of
international development. It offers students an opportunity to study
international development from a multidisciplinary perspective emphasising
the social, educational and environmental dimensions of expertise. The
core contents of the programme cover international dilemmas of
development, development cooperation policies, multidisciplinary
approaches to define and address social development issues, and
implementation and quality of development cooperation.

The Master's Programme in Development and International Cooperation will
invite 20-30 students to initiate the programme in September 2004. Finnish
and international students are encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants
will hold the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree (200-240 ECTS credits)
from an institution of higher education, preferably within a major in
social, educational or environmental sciences. Good command of English is
required of all applicants, as well as a proven interest in development
issues.

Deadline for applications is January 31, 2004.
