GIS Day Registrations
Wednesday, November 17, 2004, marks GIS Dayâ^À^Ùs sixth annual
celebration. Many people and organizations all over the world have
already registered to host a GIS Day 2004 event. To register for an
event, visit the GIS Day Web site at www.gisday.com. Remember that you
need to reregister each year. Your registration ensures that people can
find information about your event, and it also helps the GIS Day
committee plan for materials to assist you in the success of your event.

Updating Your Event Info
It is very simple to update your registration. Remember to update your
registration whenever new information becomes available about your event;
simply visit our Web site and click on update event info. You will then
enter the e-mail address of the person who originally registered the
event. Then click on the gray update your info button. Once you are
connected to your registration, you can make vital changes and fill in
any missing information. It is very important that you have entered the
correct information so that your event is up-to-date. Remember to take
advantage of this free advertising and publicity for your event.

GIS Day Materials
We are currently in the process of updating the GIS Day materials for
2004. Take a moment to visit the Materials section of the GIS Day Web
site to view the wealth of materials available to help you plan your GIS
Day event. PowerPoint presentations, logos, sample agendas, international
translations, posters, signs, banners, and grade specific activities for
students Kâ^À^Ó12 are just a few of the things you will find.

Official GIS Day Proclamations
It's not too early to ask your governor, mayor, or other public official
to declare November 17, 2004, official GIS Day. You can customize the
provided template at http://www.gisday.com/material.html#declaration by
filling in a little information; we have done the rest. It is so simple,
there is no reason why everyone cannot send one and help declare November
17, 2004, official GIS Day all over the planet!

This Monthâ^À^Ùs Featured Event
Kerala Agricultural University in Kerala, India, will hold a GIS Day
seminar for students and faculty on Wednesday, November 17, 2004. The
event will include participation from a number of university departments
including agriculture, forestry, veterinary science, banking, and more,
and will culminate with a GIS quiz competition with prizes awarded to the
winners.

We wish Kerala University and their staff much luck with their upcoming
GIS Day event and thank them for joining our celebration.

Now it is time for you to decide how you will celebrate GIS Day 2004.
