The first online web chat is scheduled on January 31, 2005 at 3.00 p.m with Dr. S. Balaji, I.F.S, Director, Department of Environment, Government of Tamil Nadu. The topic for the discussion will be on ^ÓCoastal Protection^Ô. Public could raise questions on checking sea erosion, preventing salinization of Ground water, compliance of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification, preserving ecologically sensitive hot spots in the coastal area and pollution abatement efforts needed to prevent marine pollution.
