Faculty Position
 Assistant Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Management
 West Virginia University

 Academic Rank and Salary:
 The position is Assistant Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Management
 in the Division of Forestry, College of Agriculture, Forestry and
 Consumer Sciences, West Virginia University.  This is a nine-month,
 tenure-track position.  The initial salary shall be commensurate with
 qualifications and experience.  Summer salary may be available initially
in order to
 establish a research program contingent upon availability of funds.

 Responsibilities:
 Responsibilities include: 1) teaching an undergraduate course in
 wildlife and fisheries policy and administration, an applied senior-level
 course in wildlife techniques, and a graduate-level course in wildlife and
 fisheries population ecology; 2) develop a strong, extramurally-funded
research
 program in ecology/management of central Appalachian wildlife
 resources. Direction of graduate student research in this area is
required; and
 3) advise undergraduate and graduate students, serve on senior
 project/thesis advisory committees, and serve on Division and University
committees.

 Qualifications:
 Applicants must have a Ph.D. in wildlife, ecology, zoology, or related
 field; at least one degree in wildlife from a management-oriented
 natural resources curriculum is required.  Evidence of a strong interest in
 teaching and a record of research productivity are required, as is the
 potential to attract extramural funding.  Demonstrated expertise in applied
 wildlife population or habitat management is required.  Demonstrated
ability to
 communicate with students, professionals and other scientists is
 essential. Preference will be given to applicants with strong quantitative
 skills, and demonstrated ability to work effectively with state, federal and
 private natural resource organizations.

 Location:
 West Virginia University's main campus is located in Morgantown, a
 small city of 45,000 in the Appalachian Mountains on West Virginia's
 northern border adjacent to Pennsylvania.  Morgantown was rated fifth in the
