Specific areas where support is possible include: 1)Conservation ecology and behavioral ecology of aquatic insects at a M.S. or Ph.D. level. Work to compliment either ongoing studies of the life history and ecology the federally-listed endangered Hines Emerald Dragonfly (Somatochlora hineana), or ongoing research on multiple-predator and predator-prey interactions. Contact: Dr. Daniel A. Soluk (dsoluk@uiuc.edu) 2)Stream ecology at M.S. level, especially spatial and temporal dynamics involved in the recovery of stream ecosystems from agricultural impacts. Contact: Dr. Jennifer L. Tank (jtank@staff.uiuc.edu) 3)Population and community ecology of zooplankton. Support is available for a masters student to conduct independent research relating to a project exploring the role of dormancy in the population and community dynamics of zooplankton. The study lakes are located in southwestern Michigan near Michigan State's Kellogg Biological Station. Contact: Dr. Carla E. Caceres (caceres@denr1.igis.uiuc.edu) 4)Stream ecology at M.S. or Ph.D. level, especially biotic and abiotic responses to manipulations (instream and land based) from local to watershed scales. Contact: Dr. Steven L Kohler (s-kohler@uiuc.edu). Degree options are available either through Dept. of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, or Dept. of Ecology, Ethology, and Evolution at the Un
