Subject: WasteWater Heat Recovery

Would you know of a company that would like to distribute GFX in your
country?
    See http://oikos.com/gfx/.org/renewables/bioenergy-list-archive/ for more information.
The U.S. DOE Team's contribution to the CADDET 12/97 Newsletter @
http://www.caddet-ee.org/newsdesk/nw497_05.htm-list-archive/ had this to say:
"The situation

According to DOE's Energy Information Administration (EIA), electric water
heaters provided 45% of US residential water heating needs in 1995. The EIA
estimates that in 1995 residential water heaters in the US consumed 740 TWh
of energy and commercial water heaters consumed 320 TWh.

Approximately 80-90% of all hot water energy goes down the drain, carrying
with it up to 955 TWh of energy in the US alone. Efforts to recycle this
waste energy, such as the GFX system, can result in significant energy
savings. "

If 955 Billion kWh go down US drains each year, imagine how much energy
is wasted worldwide.

GFX is a unique product that boosts shower-comfort by saving energy.

>>>"The Faulks GFX was installed on 12/10/97 and was to be
>>>turned to the off position for the first three weeks. On 12/23/97
>>>Diane Faulk called to see if I could turn the GFX on since she
>>>was having 6 relatives stay with her over the holidays. She
>>>expressed to me that having it on would give it a true test of
>>>how effective it could be with recovery time. At times there
>>>would be 6 or 7 showers all in succession. I agreed that it
>>>would benefit everyone to put it through a tough test. I went
>>>out on 12/ 23/97 and turned it to the on position. Diane was
>>>real excited to see how it was going to work. On 01/5/98 I
>>>returned to take readings and talked with Bruce Faulk about
>>>how it worked. He was overwhelmed on how it performed
>>>and said he would recommend it to anyone. The other
>>>customers are saying the same things also, including myself.
>>>It does make a big difference." ... "The benefits are endless."

>>>"The preliminary results on our NAHB study are very impressive.
>>>Dean Talbott said he was seeing 35 to 40% less total water
>>>heating energy on the first round of comparisons. He's confirmed
>>>his inclusion of GFX in their rebate program. "
