2.  GREENTIE (Greenhouse Technology Information Exchange)
================================
The GLO in Nepal (Centre for Rural Technology - CRT), has set up a new home
page, including information about the GREENTIE programme in the Networking
section. They have also made a link to the GREENTIE website. The address of

In Hungary the GLO (Hungry-EU Energy Centre) has also established a home

The GLO in Brazil (Centre National Reference on Biomass - CENBIO), has been
selected to receive the 1998 US Environment Protection Agency’s Climate
Protection Award. Nineteen individuals and organisations will receive this
honour in recognition of exemplary efforts and achievements in protecting
the global climate. The award will be presented on 27 October 1998 during
the Earth Technologies Forum in Washington, DC.
3. Link of the month

New RFF book reviews socioeconomic aspects of climate change. A new book,
336-pages, published by RFF (Resources for the Future) assesses the
economic and social aspects of climate change contained within the landmark
1995 report issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Energy Developments Ltd is an Australian company taking new steps towards
reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the practical utilisation of methane
gas trapped in underground mines to generate electric power. Their website

KLIMATEK is a USD 70 million, 5-year Norwegian National Technology
Programme which aims to promote technology for reducing greenhouse gas
emissions. The Norwegian Research Council launched KLIMATEK in 1997 and
projects ranging from CO2 separation to direct biological fixation of CO2

PV in the City of the future. European workshop will be held in 12-14

Here you can find the Renewable Energy Register, with descriptions of
around 400 renewable energy projects from around the world, and details of

Here you can find a searchable Directory of approximately 8,500
organisations offering expertise and/or products to help mitigate
greenhouse gas emissions. Any organisation located in a GREENTIE-sponsored
country offering products or expertise in greenhouse gas reduction
internationally can apply for free entry in the Directory by filling in the
form available on the Internet site.
