The 6th World Wilderness Congress has been resheduled and will now convene
October 24-30, 1998 in beautiful Bangalore, India!  Don't miss this unique
global event where experts on wilderness issues come together to share a world
of information and ideas.

Alan Watson of the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute and Greg Aplet of
the Wilderness Society, will be co-chairing an extended symposium at the
Congress on "Wilderness Designation, Management, and Research".  You are
encouraged to submit abstracts to be considered for inclusion in this
symposium, which will be organized around the following topics --- Protected
Area Systems: Challenges, Solutions, and Changes; Understanding and Protecting
Biological Diversity; Human Values and Meanings of Wilderness; Opportunities
and Challenges of Wilderness as a Basis for Sustainable Development; The Future
of Wilderness?: Challenges of Planning, Management, Training, and Research;
Understanding Threats and Services Related to Wilderness Resources; High Seas
Protection.
