              OF POSITIONS : 6 (GENERAL - 3, SC-1, ST-1, OBC-1) (ADVT.  NO. 
              R(IB)308-6/98)

              M.Sc. with B.Lib.Sc. OR B.Sc. with M.Lib.Sc./Associateship in  
              Documentation  awarded  by DRTC/INSDOC.   Minimum  of  Second 
              Class  in all these degrees is essential.   SC/ST  candidates 
              with pass class will also be considered.  One or two years of 
              experience  in  a Library/Information  Centre  is  desirable.  
              Candidates  sponsored  by  their  employers  will  be   given 
              preference. 

              GENERAL:


              Training is for ONE year from 2nd November 1998 on a  stipend 
              of  Rs. 4,000/- per month.   No accommodation on  the  Campus 
              will  be provided by the Institute.  The Institute will  have 
              no obligation to absorb them on completion of the training. 
               
              Candidates  should  send their bio-data on plain  paper  with 
              copies of marks cards/certificate(s), crossed IPO for Rs. 5/- 
              (SC/ST  candidates  exempted,  if  supported  by  Caste/Tribe 
              certificate)  drawn  in  favour  of  the  REGISTRAR,   INDIAN 
              INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE, payable at P.O., BANGALORE 560 012  and 
              self-addressed  envelope  (28cms x 13 cms) to  the  PROGRAMME 
              COORINATING OFFICER, UNIT-IB, on or before 19-8-1998.
