Founded in 1987 by Geography Professor Ron Eastman, the IDRISI
Project is a non-profit project within the Graduate School of Geography
at Clark University.
The mandate of the Project is to further the development
and understanding of computer-assisted geographic analysis.
The raster-based geographic analysis packages IDRISI
and IDRISI for Windows are developed, distributed and supported by the
Project.
To date, there are over 16,000 registered users of IDRISI
software in over 130 countries, making it the most widely used raster GIS
in the world.
