INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DAYS OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY OF THE
REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

 

India and Belarus have agreed at bilateral level to acquaint the
scientists, technologists, institutions, industries, etc. to each
others^Ò capabilities in the field of science and technology through
Organization of Science and Technology Days in each other^Òs countries. 

 

In the first instance, Belarusian days of Science and Technology would be
organized in India during 24-28 February ^Ò03 as per details attached.

 

On behalf of the Indo-Belarus Joint Committee on Science and Technology
Cooperation, we invite you / your scientists or representatives to
participate in the event and interact with the Belarusian experts on
various technologies with a view to identify products/technologies for
future R&D collaboration / Technology Transfer / Joint Ventures. Wherever
possible, the Indo-Belarus bilateral S&T Agreement will try to facilitate
consolidation of the ideas and establishment of joint ventures,
conceptualized during these interactions. The participation is free of
cost. 

Please confirm your participation directly to the contact person
indicated in the attachment.  We shall also appreciate if you could pass
on this information to any individual or organization, who/which could
benefit by participating in this event.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS UNDER PROGRAMME OF COOPEATION WITH GOVT OF ISLAMIC
REPUBLIC OF IRAN

 

            DST is in the process of evolving a POC in S&T following the
signing of an Inter-Governmental S&T Agreement with Iran, Thailand,
Singapore and Republic of Korea. The agreement provides for cooperation
in specific topics in information and communication technology, energy,
industrial technology, environment, food technology, sustainable
development, information technology, bio-technology and pharmaceuticals
research.  Modalities of cooperation will include visits and exchange of
experts, holding S&T seminars/workshops, training of S&T personnel, joint
R&D projects, exchange of experiences in regard of S&T infrastructure and
women entrepreneurship and technology in rural areas.

 

            Proposals are invited in specific topics in the identified
areas indicating mechanisms of cooperative activities.  Such a proposal
should have the necessary concurrence of counter-part
institutions/scientists to implement the said activities.  While drawing
up the proposal, the following is necessarily to be included, wherever
applicable for seeking necessary approval.  These include:

 

1.                  Title of the proposal;

2.                  Participating institutions/scientists;

3.                  Duration including starting date;

4.                  Objectives;

5.                  Justification;

6.                  Plan of work; and

7.                  Finances

 

Proposal may also include curriculum vitae of participating scientists.  
DST intends to take up these proposals before the meeting of the joint
S&T committee, and based on its approval the concerned scientists filing
the proposal will be asked to develop a detailed project document for
further consideration.

INVITATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN UKRAINIAN EXHIBITION ON MATERIALS
TECHNOLOGIES AT HYDERABAD

 

International Advanced research Centre for Powder Metallurgy & New
Materials is hosting an Ukrainian exhibition on Materials Technologies
during 3-6 March 2003 in their campus at Hyderabad. This exhibition is
supported by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India
and the Ministry of Education and Science, Government of Ukraine.

 

This exhibition will showcase over 100 useful technologies / products
from over 20 leading institutes in Ukraine in the following areas:

§         Surface Treatment

§         Ceramics

§         Magnetic Materials

§         Crystalline Materials

§         Advanced Materials and

§         Medical Science

 

Participants will be acquainted with exhibits through live
demonstrations, posters and video clips. Concerned Ukrainian experts
would be available for in-depth discussions pertaining to each
technology.

SINGAPORE AND REPUBLIC OF KOREA (ROK).   Specific areas cover Advance
Materials, Biotechnology, Natural Science, Engineeering Science and
Technology, Traditional Medicines and Information Technology.  Other
areas can also be covered depending upon the topics of common interest. 
Mechanism of cooperative activities include project related based visits
of scientists, organization of joint seminars/workshops, exchange of
information and documentation, training of S&T personnel, consultancy
etc.

charged services since 1st August 2001. Some of the academic
organisations have also shifted from ernet.in to ac.in. As a result,
