Sub: Free Trial access to Elsevier journals through ScienceDirect service
As part of the MHRD supported consortia-based access to scholarly electronic
resources, expected to formally start from January 2003, Elsevier has
announced free online trial access to a large number of Elsevier as well as
Academic Press journals, including those subscribed by IISc, through its
ScienceDirect service.
ScienceDirect service is one of the world's largest providers of scientific,
technical and medical literature. It offers access to over 1.5 million peer
reviewed articles from 1,200 journals, covering all fields of science from
1995 to present. It also offers navigation across 30 million records with
links to 10,000 journal titles.
IISc researchers have free online access to fulltext of most of these
journals till mid January 2003.
How to access:
Please visit http://www.sciencdirect.com to access these journals. Select
'Journals' button to view and select journals for online access.
The service is IP authenticated. Please ensure that your web browser is
configured to use ECE proxy (automatic: http://144.16.64.4/pac/iisc.pac or
manual 144.16.64.4 port 3128) or SERC proxy (144.16.79.58 port 3128).
