Subject: Life in Africa Foundation

New to this list (only 3 days!), I have already read such interesting
information about projects potentially worth partnering with, that it's
time for an introduction.

The Life in Africa Foundation is an internet based private initiative
begun in early 1999 which disseminates information about contemporary
life, culture, and microfinance in Africa. Through stories about
microfinance clients, and the impact that access to financial services
has on their lives, LiA's website and email publications provide the
global public on the internet with unique, *positive* insights into the
challenges, events and priorities which impact the decisions and
outcomes in the lives of ordinary Africans today.

LiA is currently seeking African MFIs who can provide
information/stories about the human impact of microfinance to be
disseminated, with the objective of increasing awareness of
microfinance, it's impact and its viability among the international
mainstream public. More specific information on our email publications
will be forthcoming.

We believe -- in fact we have already experienced -- that the
dissemination of such information can prove to be a powerful fundraising
mechanism for contributing microfinance institutions. LiA also seeks to
support existing, innovative MFIs in the development of new financial
products, and the extension of credit and savings services to
underserved segments of the poor population. Once we are fully
operational and leveraging our full fundraising potential, LiA support
may include grant funding, technical assistance, or operational
partnerships in the development and testing of new products and
services.

African MFIs who desire more detailed information on potential
partnerships with LiA should contact me, or visit the Life in Africa
Foundation at www.lifeinafrica.com.
