BANGALORE: The government is likely to bring out a “Renewable Energy Policy
Statement’’ for development of appropriate technology to increase harnessing
of energy at economical costs.
The government which will introduce the Electricity Bill has made provisions
to give impetus to the growth of renewable energy sector, said Minister of State
for Non-conventional Energy Sources M. Kannappan on Friday.
Addressing a two-day conference on “Renewable Energy for the next Decade,’’
the minister called upon research institutions and implementing agencies to
explore approaches in the global context to develop technologies. Secretary,
Ministry of Power, Anil Razdan also spoke.
