The State of the Environment Norway 1997 offers you the latest news about the environment in Norway, given in easily understandable texts, graphics, colour pictures and map-series. The report is aimed at decision-makers, schools and the general public. Schools are in particular interested in the report in connection with the increasing emphasis on IT and environment.

Themes like climate change, acid rain, depletion of the ozone layer, biodiversity, toxic contamination, fisheries, forest resources and urban environment are treated in short texts, graphics and colour pictures which may be downloaded directly from the Internet.

State of the Environment Norway 1997 on the Internet is a product of co-operation among others between Ministry of Environment, Statistics Norway, the Mapping Authorities environmental unit and the Pollution Control Authority. The report is recommended by UNEP.

The report has been awarded, and functions as a model for several other countries.
