Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to introduce a new journal,

*****   COMMUNITY ECOLOGY  *****

Established by the merger of two other ecological periodicals, Coenoses
and Abstracta Botanica,
this new journal is an international forum for original papers, review
articles,
book reviews, announcements and advertisements of interest to
ecologists.
Community Ecology is being launched in an effort to create a common
global
forum for community ecologists dealing with
plant, animal and/or microbial communities from terrestrial, marine or
freshwater systems.

 The scope of the journal includes, but is not restricted to, the
following subject areas:

 =B7 community-based ecological theory;
 =B7 modelling of ecological communities;
 =B7 community-based ecophysiology;
 =B7 temporal dynamics, including succession;
 =B7 trophic interactions, including food webs and competition;
 =B7 spatial pattern analysis, including scaling issues;
 =B7 community patterns of species richness and diversity;
 =B7 sampling ecological communities;
 =B7 data analysis methods, including multivariate analysis and
geostatistics.

 All papers are peer-reviewed.
